laurawithoutsound asked: Hey, just bought one of your shirts from Redbubble and I was wonedering how much you make on me purchasing your shirt. 'Cause I am having way too much fun buying shirts off of this website, even though nobody around me gets them. (Also I just moved to Toronto, do you have any suggestions of how I make friends with fellow fan-nerds?)
Hello! RB has a base price that I add a percentage on to, depending on the product. For shirts and phone cases that are on the more expensive side, I lessen the percentage. I don’t use the same numbers for all the products too, though. In any case, if you bought that shirt in November, I donated everything I made that month (and also December) to the Red Cross for Typhoon Haiyan.
As for making friends, I know 221btoronto.tumblr.com hosts meetups every once in a while if you’re into Sherlock…and if you’re a Nerdfighter there’s a Toronto chapter for that too!
tardis-at-hogwarts asked: so my birthday is rapidly approaching and I made a list for my family and like 90% of the list was your posters, partly because I love them and partly because you are donating the money
Gosh that’s sweet! I’ve been really happy with how many people have been ordering recently :D As for your other ask, the posters (as far as I know) are cheaper since they’re made with a different kind of paper. The paper used for photographic prints is thicker, and I guess, better quality? A lot of people order posters though, so I think it’s a safe bet :)
I make things.
I’ve gotten a couple messages about the fandom temporary tattoos on my Storenvy, so here’s a promo! You can type in “haiyan” for 10% off :)
niiiiiicolaaa asked: I just wanted to say that more people on this planet should be like you. What you're doing is so incredibly generous-I will definitely be buying from your shop as soon as possible to help donate to those affected by the typhoon. Keep being amazing:)
It’s nowhere near as much as other people have done, but I’m doing what I can. Thanks!
berunagirl asked: Hello! My friend Fran is running a blog for artworks for sale for the victims of Typhoon Haiyan, you might want to submit your work: artforhaiyan(.)tumblr(.)com. Thanks! :D
Thanks for the tip :) Submitted!
Hey, all. As you’ve probably heard all over the news by now, the Philippines has been hit by this enormous typhoon and a lot of aid is needed. I have friends who live in unaffected areas of PH and they’re packing relief goods and volunteering their time and effort as much as they can. So here’s my bucketful:
ALL NOV/DEC PROCEEDS from my Storenvy | Redbubble | Society6 will be donated to the Philippine Red Cross. I’ll take a screenshot of the paypal donation, for transparency’s sake, when I make it.
It’s the Christmas season too, so if you’re looking for stocking stuffers or something, I’ve got fandom temporary tattoos, stickers, phone cases, tote bags, prints… Anyway. I used to live in the Philippines, so please help my old home!
PS: Clicking the Society6 link allows you to get free shipping until November 17, Pacific Time
(edit: please reblog, even if you can’t afford to buy art right now. your followers might be interested!)

In a waay old vlogbrother’s video, John recommended David Foster Wallace’s 2005 commencement speech. I filed it under my “Things To Look At Next Time” list and it sat there for about half a year. Then my cousin came to visit last August, and we got to talking about David Foster Wallace. He said that that speech changed his life, and I dug it up out of my list and listened. And listened again. And again. And again. Maybe it’s simply that I listened to the speech at a time in my life when I was seriously feeling lost, future-plans-wise. Maybe it’s just that DFW was a fucking genius. Maybe it’s something else entirely. Whatever the reason, this speech was a game changer. Go check it out.
So. I am still pretty floored by my first TIFF experience, but here’s to me trying to write it out anyway.
etoiles-rouges asked: OMG WHAT
